crisis 2008The American economy crisis of the sample of 2007-2008 took place, and it is possible to draw the first conclusions already. Contrary to many expectations, it has not led to a planetary accident with bankruptcies of the whole countries. The second Great depression has not begun as experts predicted. But the crisis caused hundred thousand small tragedies and people were deprived of their houses and savings in US dollars. Strangely enough, but Americans were stricken less than inhabitants of other countries. We shall try to understand whose guilty it was and how ordinary Americans were stricken.

Exactly one year ago, on June, 27th, 2007, the post of the prime minister of the Great Britain has officially passed from headed the British government more than ten years Toni Blair to its(his) former Minister of Finance Gordonu Brown.

The first 100 days premiership Brown were marked by a lot of fresh initiatives, which British have apprehended very positively. Among them - construction of new cheap and harmless habitation in the British province and on the former military ranges, a new complex of the constitutional measures for maintenance of a transparency and the responsibility of authorities before people, offers on reforming the international institutes, more constrained and business relations of London and Washington instead of Toni Blair and Georges Bush’s intimate friendship.

Neptune Orient Lines Ltd., the shipping company controlled by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, is seeking to borrow at least $5 billion for a potential bid to buy TUI AG’s sea-cargo unit, people familiar with the deal said.

Southeast Asia’s largest sea cargo carrier is in talks with lenders to raise between $5 billion and $6 billion, said three people, who declined to be identified because the information isn’t public. Paul Barrett, spokesman for Neptune, which is 66 percent owned by Temasek Holdings Pte, declined to comment.

Regarding your June 16 editorial “Beltwaywide Financial,” I never once asked for or expected discounted mortgages or a so-called “sweetheart” deal from Countrywide Financial.

Here are the facts: In 2002 I was looking for a mortgage and went to several lending institutions. I also called a close friend of mine who knew a lot about mortgages for advice. My friend happened to be with the head of Countrywide Financial when I called and put him on the line. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Angelo Mozilo for about 30 seconds, and he referred me to a junior loan officer.
